HEAD 21 Meeting
The 21st meeting of the High Energy Astrophysics Division of the AAS will be held 7-12 April 2024 in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. Horseshoe Bay is near the center of totality for the total solar eclipse that will occur on Monday, 8 April 2024, from 12:16 pm to 2:57 pm CT (totality from 1:34 pm to 1:38 pm CT).
To better accommodate the overwhelming interest in this meeting, the meeting has been extended to 12 April 2024, with check-in on 7 April, poster setup (and the eclipse!) on 8 April, and the oral program from 9 to 12 April.
Please note that because the venue is near the center of the zone of eclipse totality, lodging options near the Horseshoe Bay Resort are almost fully booked for Sunday, 7 April and Monday, 8 April. This schedule change provides attendees with the option to arrange lodging in Austin or other places with more capacity on Sunday and Monday, and to re-locate near the meeting site in Horseshoe Bay from Tuesday to Friday, when rooms should be more available.
For those who have already booked, we apologize for the inconvenience, and ask you to contact your hotel to extend your booking. You can alter your reservations at the Horseshoe Bay by calling the reservations office at 877-611-0112 or emailing [email protected].
We encourage everyone to arrange your lodging as soon as possible.
