The National Science Board (NSB) is now accepting nominations for its 2021 honorary awards — the Vannevar Bush and NSB Public Service awards — through 30 September 2020.

Uncertainty about how the COVID-19 pandemic will evolve during the rest of 2020 have prompted NASA to extend some upcoming deadlines, including the due date for James Webb Space Telescope Cycle 1 proposals.

NASA is naming the Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope, currently under development, in honor of Nancy Grace Roman (1925-2018), the agency's first chief astronomer and "Mother of Hubble."

Robin Canup (Southwest Research Institute) and Philip Christensen (Arizona State University) will lead the community's effort to chart a course for planetary science and astrobiology for the decade 2023 to 2032.

Astronomy departments at US universities have a new opportunity to train graduate students in leadership skills in collaboration with the Osterbrock Leadership Program at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

The CatWISE2020 Catalog consists of 1,890,715,640 sources measured in data collected from 2010 to 2018. The catalog is now available at NERSC and will be available in the next few weeks via IRSA.

The JWST Cycle 1 call for proposals for general observers and archival researchers remains open, but in light of the disruption caused by COVID-19, the proposal deadline has been extended indefinitely for now.

The National Science Foundation's National Optical-Infrared Astronomy Research Laboratory, which brings NSF’s optical & infrared nighttime astronomy under one entity, will now go by the name NSF’s NOIRLab (no-WAH-lab).
