Last Chance to Register Online for the AAS Summer Meeting
The 230th AAS meeting is one month away! Head to Austin, Texas,
- Are you eagerly awaiting the launch of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST)? Feed your anticipation by attending an MiM that will discuss projects that already have guaranteed time on JWST and how to use the JWST proposal and planning tools.
- If you’re interested in the origins of exoplanets orbiting within 1 AU of their host stars, check out the panel-based sessions of the Inner Solar Systems MiM.
- A Special Session on astrostatistics, exploring the intersection of observational astronomy, statistics, and data science, is also planned for the summer meeting.
Additionally, the Laboratory Astrophysics Division (LAD) will hold its annual meeting in conjunction with AAS 230 and has planned both oral and poster sessions on "Bridging Laboratory and Astrophysics." Topics will range from ices in the solar system to plasmas in active galactic nuclei.
What are you waiting for? Register for the meeting and we’ll see you in Austin in next month!

The AAS does not want the financial burden of child or dependent care to impact members' ability to attend meetings, especially for early career scientists or those at small institutions with limited funding. To help, members may apply for a grant to subsidize dependent care services during a meeting, for use either at the meeting location or at home. Applications for these grants are due 15 May 2017.
