Let’s not call this party a banquet!
The Witte Museum
Nature, Science & Culture
3801 Broadway, San Antonio, Texas 78209
Wednesday, 4 October 2023
Doors open at 6:00 pm to attendees with limited museum viewing. The food truck and open mic event runs from 7:00 to -10:00 pm.
Sponsored by Southwest Research Institute - Free to Attendees
We’ll have local food trucks for dinner, Texas distillery vendors, a margarita truck, live music, and more in the Witte’s Mays Family Center building and outdoor grounds. Pay as you go.
Open Mic Night will be broadcast live on the AoT SATX Youtube and Facebook channels for our virtual attendees. Contact Joe Spitale for details about performing. The Space Jam Band at SwRI will join us, with our thanks for helping to provide equipment.
We have several excellent food trucks planned:
Vegan and Vegetarian options are available! The Spurs Street Eats truck is famous for its baked potato, available without pork, and it serves chips & salsa. Roadies is offering us a special vegan burger upon our request. 3B BBQ has sides of mac & cheese and potato salad, but avoid the green beans with bacon (not often made clear on menus).
Rideshare from downtown is 11 min, at a $12-15 standard rate.
Easy adjacent parking garage at 3501 Avenue B, San Antonio, TX, 78209.
Convenient B-Cycle rental at parking garage
Via Bus Route 9 goes from downtown (Flores & Dolorosa) to Broadway and Hildebrand (a 3-5 min walk from the Witte) with high frequency (<20 min wait; ~20 min transport time) Martin & Navarro stop on return to downtown.
Enjoy a stroll through the nearby Brackenridge Park, or an afterparty across the street at the Pig Pen, Smoke Shack, or The Cottage.
Be sure to see the meteorite that recently landed in west Texas in February 2023. This exhibit has been extended by the museum in anticipation of our meeting.
