The Society's FAMOUS (Funds for Astronomical Meetings: Outreach to Underrepresented Scientists) program helps members from historically underrepresented groups attend AAS meetings. Deadline: 14 April.

Submit your oral or poster abstract for the 242nd AAS meeting by 11 April to be added to the meeting program. Registration and the hotel block for the summer meeting will open soon.

The AAS provided COVID tests at the recent 241st AAS meeting. We have received 15 positive results, with a total symptomatic case incidence rate among conference in-person attendees of roughly 0.5%.

The year 2022 is coming to a close, and your Society is continuing to make progress on the goals established by the AAS Board of Trustees and Strategic Assembly.

The 241st AAS meeting will be a fully hybrid meeting; while it carries dramatic benefits, the registration rates are a bit higher. Here we provide a detailed explanation of why hybrid meetings are more expensive.

We are revising our COVID-19 health and safety policy for the 241st AAS meeting in Seattle to include a mask mandate alongside our (unchanged) vaccine and booster requirement.
