Policies & Conduct

DDA 54
Annual Meeting of the Division on Dynamical Astronomy
Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan
8 – 12 May 2023

Raynor L. Duncombe Student Research Prizes

The Raynor L. Duncombe Student Research Prizes are awarded annually to a small number of students, on a competitive basis, to help defray the cost of attending the Division on Dynamical Astronomy Annual Meeting.

The prize winners are recognized with a certificate, a travel stipend, and recognition during their contributed presentation at the annual meeting. In addition to a monetary award, meeting registration and banquet fees are waived for prize winners. At the last in-person meeting in 2022, the travel stipend was $600.

The deadline for Duncombe prize submissions coincides with the abstract submission deadline at 11:59 pm EST on 16 February 2023 (both must be done separately). For more information and instructions on how to apply, see https://dda.aas.org/awards/duncombe.

Supplemental Travel Grants

The DDA will be providing a limited amount of travel support to defray the costs of attending the meetings for a small number of attendees. This support is aimed at DDA members who do not have sufficient financial resources to attend the meeting and would not be able to attend without travel support. Both small requests (less than $500) and large requests ($500 or greater) will be considered. The total amount available in each category is not yet decided, but we expect to be able to fund a larger number of smaller requests.

The deadline for applications is at 11:59 pm EST on 1 March 2023. For more information and for instructions on how to apply, see https://dda.aas.org/awards/travelgrants.
