You're invited to participate in two exciting student-focused programs at AAS 241. These represent a formal "reboot" of our in-person activities supporting students and graduate schools at our meetings.
The kickoff Student Orientation and Grad School & Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Fair will be held on Sunday, 8 January 2023, 5:30–7:00 pm, and the very popular Student Pavilion will be open Monday – Thursday in the Exhibit Hall as part of our Career Services Center.
As a sponsor of these meeting elements, you will receive:
- Student Orientation and Grad School & Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Fair
- 8’ skirted table to display brochures and handouts
- 8’ bulletin board to hang banners or posters
- Student Pavilion/Career Services
- Shared space to display brochures, posters, and handouts
- Opportunity to self-organize a 15-30 minute face-to-face meet-up with potential students
The Student Pavilion/Career Services Center, located in our Exhibit Hall, is designed for casual networking among students, their peers, and mentors. We will provide display stations and literature racks for you to promote your programs. You are welcome to arrange meetings in the Student Pavilion with potential candidates. Additionally, we will help you organize mentoring sessions throughout the week.
The cost for sponsorship is $555. Participating in these student-focused programs is a great way to increase your exposure at the AAS winter meeting. As a sponsor, you have the unique opportunity to highlight your graduate-school or REU program and recruit new students.
Please complete the sponsorship application by 15 November 2022.
We encourage institutions to bring a giveaway to raffle off to the students. Some ideas include school t-shirts, fanny packs, mugs, etc. We will provide you with information cards that students can complete. Drawings are the responsibility of the institution.
If you have any questions, contact Bill McCall, AAS Sponsorship, Exhibits & Meetings Coordinator.
