International Travel Grant Application

AAS International Travel Grants, funded by the National Science Foundation, provide funding for airline travel to international science meetings. This funding is available only to individuals at US institutions, who need not be AAS members. Use this form to apply. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.

AAS members: If you sign in to this website, some fields in this form will be automatically populated with information from your member profile.

Graduate students: You will need to upload a letter of recommendation from your advisor. If you don't have one yet, please ask your advisor for one, then return to this page to fill out this form.

Disclaimer: This program is contingent on the AAS receiving continued funding from the NSF. Our latest grant application is under consideration, and no awards will be made until the Society has received an award letter from the NSF for this program. If we receive funding, we will proceed with selections from the grant applications we have received by the deadline. If we do not receive funding, we will notify all applicants of this fact as soon as possible after the decision is known to us. Applicants are cautioned that confirmation of support for travel in early 2018 or to the XXXth IAU General Assembly in August 2018 may be delayed until late spring 2018; please plan accordingly.
