This announcement is posted on behalf of Felicity Davie of Royal Society Publishing:
The Royal Society Publishing Photography Competition celebrates the power of photography to communicate science and the role great images play in making science accessible to a wide audience. It is run in collaboration with the Royal Society’s journals. The 2017 competition includes an astronomy category and is open for entries through 31 August 2017 — which gives you 10 days to process your best image of the solar eclipse across America! (One of the judges for this year's competition is a heliophysicist. Coincidence?!)
The competition (#RSPPhotoComp) is free to enter. The overall winner will receive a prize of £500 (or currency equivalent), and winners of the categories not chosen as the overall winner will receive £250 (or currency equivalent).
