The National Science Foundation’s NOIRLab has issued a Call for Proposals 2021A (CfP21A), with proposals due by 30 September 2020 at 11:59 pm Mountain Standard Time. National Science Foundation’s NOIRLab

Please read the CfP21A carefully, as some observatories or facilities have had their schedules seriously impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Time requests for 2021A may be made for Gemini North and South, as well as Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (including the BLANCO, SOAR, and SMARTS). Time is also available on the automated global telescope network of Las Cumbres Observatory, as well as the CHARA interferometer. Nights are also available on the Subaru and AAT telescopes through time-exchange agreements.

Of particular note is the NN-EXPLORE program, which offers time on the the CTIO/SMARTS 1.5m telescope with the CHIRON precision radial-velocity spectrometer (300 hours), as well as 300 hours on the precision radial-velocity spectrometer at the MINERVA-Australis exoplanet observatory, operated by the University of Southern Queensland, in Queensland, Australia.

Due to the mid-March 2020 closure of the WIYN Observatory, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and no reopening date yet set, WIYN is not soliciting new NN-EXPLORE proposals for Semester 2021A; please see the CfP21A for more details.
