If you are new to the USA Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad (USAAAO), they select and train a team of students each year to attend the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA). This year, the IOAA will take place in Hungary from 2-11 August.
The first round of the 2019 USAAAO will consist of a multiple-choice test administered during the week of 26-30 January 2019. The selection exams will cover a broad variety of topics from cosmology to observational astronomy. The registration form must be filled out by the teacher who will proctor the students' exams. Registration will close on 25 January 2019. Anyone may compete in the Olympiad, but only US Citizens or Permanent Residents will be eligible to represent the USA at the IOAA competition.
