Is science communication important? Does public engagement really matter? Should the scientific community do more or less to support these activities? Here’s your chance to be heard.

The American Astronomical Society is one of thirty scientific organizations participating in this landmark survey — administered by ScienceCounts and the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science — to assess members’ views on science communication and public engagement. This project is funded by the Kavli Foundation, Burroughs Wellcome Fund, and Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. The study is expected to yield critical new insights for social scientists and science communication practitioners laboring to provide scientists practical resources and tools that are grounded in solid data.
