2018 Membership Renewal Drive & Fall Campaign: It’s In the Mail

Membership renewal reminders and dues invoices are on their way and will arrive in your mailbox this month. Remember that timing is key to securing your discount on author charges in 2018. You must renew your membership on or before 31 December 2017 to get your 15% discount for one paper published in the Astronomical Journal or the Astrophysical Journal family in 2018. Don’t miss out!

Here’s the thing about printing and mailing invoices: there is a significant lag time between exporting the data and the renewal reminder landing in your mailbox. The data set for this mailing was pulled on 22 September, so members who renewed from that date forward do not need to pay again. If you can’t remember if you’ve already renewed, log in to members.aas.org, click “My Account” in the navigation bar, then scroll to the “Member ID, Class, Status” section in the lower left part of the page. This section will tell you through what date your membership is paid. If it’s 31 December 2017 or earlier, then it’s time to renew. While you’re logged in, you can save a stamp by clicking “Pay My Dues” to renew your membership online.
