SPD 48 Late Abstract Deadline Quickly Approaching

The AAS Solar Physics Division (SPD) will gather in Portland, Oregon, 21-25 August for the 48th SPD meeting. Not only will attendees get the chance to share their work and learn from colleagues, they will have the opportunity to see the 21 August solar eclipse from the path of totality. You don’t want to miss this!

Abstracts
If you missed the regular abstract deadline, you still have a chance to present your work at the meeting. Submit your poster abstract by 9:00 pm ET on Tuesday, 20 June, to join the meeting program.

Registration
Register for the SPD meeting by the 13 July regular deadline to avoid higher late/onsite rates. Take a look at the preliminary schedule and events, then visit the Registration page for rate and details.

Lodging
A hotel block has been reserved at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Portland, but you must register for the SPD meeting before you will be able to reserve a room in the block. Reservations must be made by 19 July to ensure the group rate. See the SPD meeting Travel & Lodging page for all of the details, and make sure you register and request a room before the block sells out!

Eclipse Viewing
SPD meeting attendees have the opportunity to travel from Portland to the campus of Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, for the breathtaking experience of witnessing a total solar eclipse. Learn more on the Events page and be sure to select this option when you register for the meeting.
