Registration is required to attend the scientific sessions and events during the 48th Solar Physics Division (SPD) meeting. Registered attendees must display their badge at all times onsite to access these sessions and events. Individuals who are not registered for the meeting will not be permitted to attend sessions, events, or other meeting functions.

Registration Types

Registrant must be under 28 years of age and interested in the advancement of astronomy or related science. Full-time students age 28 or older who are pursuing a degree in astronomy or physics are eligible to register as a student upon furnishing proof of their full-time student status.

A guest must be a spouse, domestic partner, or significant other. Guest registration fee covers access to the exhibit/poster hall, opening and closing receptions, and daily morning and afternoon coffee breaks. Guests cannot attend workshops or scientific sessions.

Guest Registration for Children
Children 17 years old and above must pay the required guest registration fee of $55. Children 16 years old and younger must pay the required registration fee of $45.

Wire Transfers: Contact [email protected] or fax 202-234-7850 for detailed wire transfer information. All wire transfers must be received by 13 July 2017 and will be assessed a $50 processing fee.

Cancellations and Refunds

Requests for refunds must be accompanied by a refund request form. Forms should be faxed to +1 202-234-7850. Requests for cancellations must be received by 14 August 2017.

Registration Refund Dates
  • Through 24 April 2017: Registration refund less the $25.00 processing fee
  • 25 April–14 August 2017: Registration refund less the $50.00 processing fee; No refunds will be given after 14 August 2017.
