Winter Meeting Abstract Submission Opens Next Week

229th meeting of the AAS

The 229th meeting of the American Astronomical Society will take place in Grapevine, Texas, 3–7 January 2017 — only about five months away! Abstract submission will open on Monday, 1 August, and you will have the opportunity to submit an abstract for an oral or poster presentation in one of over 50 topical categories. The regular abstract deadline is 4 October at 9:00 pm ET.

Abstract submissions are just getting started, but you're running out of time to submit a workshop proposal. If you'd like to hold a workshop during the winter meeting, submit your proposal by Friday, 5 August. If you're interested in hosting a splinter meeting in Grapevine, you'll need to submit your splinter meeting proposal by 11 November.

While you have Texas on your mind, start thinking about reserving a hotel room for the meeting. The AAS has reserved a block of rooms at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center for meeting attendees. Book your hotel room by 5 December to ensure the group rate. If you're looking for a roommate to share the lodging expenses at the meeting, take advantage of the Roommate Search Forum to find a match.

Details, including registration rates, are available on the meeting website. If you have any questions, please contact the AAS Meetings team at [email protected] or 202-328-2010.
