Conference on Industrial Physics in Emerging Economies II
The following announcement was received from Bo Hammer at the American Institute of Physics:
The American Institute of Physics (AIP), the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), and the University of Campinas are excited to announce an upcoming Industrial Physics Forum, "Conference on Industrial Physics in Emerging Economies II," that will be held 29 Sept. to 3 Oct. 2014 at the University of Campinas (near Sao Paolo) in Brazil.
The first three days of the conference will include talks, networking opportunities, and a field excursion designed to illustrate how physical scientists can contribute to the scientific and economic growth of their regions. The final two days will feature a short course on entrepreneurship for physicists.
Travel support is available for graduate students, postdocs, early-career scientists, and scientists in need of financial aid who are attending from regions with developing or emerging economies.
More information on the Industrial Physics Forum, including information on speakers and applying for financial aid, can be found on the conference website.
Note: If you're a US citizen, you'll need to apply for a Brazilian tourist visa, which requires a letter of invitation (available from the AIP). Visa application deadline: 31 July.
If you have any questions, please email Bo Hammer at AIP.
We hope to see you there! On behalf of the planning committee,
