A Letter to Congressional Leadership from AAS President on DACA

On 5 September, the White House released a statement rescinding the presidential memorandum that established the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. In consultation with the AAS Board of Trustees and the chairs of the Committee on the Status of Minorities in Astronomy (CSMA) and the Committee on Astronomy and Public Policy (CAPP), I have sent the letter below to Congressional leadership. The letter urges swift action on a permanent legislative solution for DACA recipients.
