Celebrating Women in the Astronomical Sciences - Final Weeks to Give

Diane Frendak

Diane Frendak American Astronomical Society (AAS)

The Society’s Spring/Summer 2017 Campaign recounts the compelling history of the Annie Jump Cannon Award and Beatrice M. Tinsley Prize and calls on you to ensure that the AAS will be able to bestow these honors on deserving recipients well into the future.

We not only celebrate these trailblazers, but also recognize important milestones for women in the astronomical sciences, such as last June’s “Women in Astronomy IV: The Many Faces of Women Astronomers” meeting, marking the 25th anniversary of the inaugural convening of “On the Status of Women in Astronomy” in Baltimore.

The Spring/Summer 2017 Campaign wraps up on Friday, 25 August! Please give to the funds, prizes, programs, and activities that mean the most to you. With more than 50 giving opportunities available, there is a worthy cause for everyone.

Donate $250 or more to any fund and you will be invited to the donor reception and donor lounge at the 231st AAS meeting in Washington, DC, in January 2018. The AAS is grateful for your support!
