Diane Frendak American Astronomical Society (AAS)

This week, the Society will debut the newest version of the AAS Job Register. More than 800 job announcements are published each year, making the job board the premier source for career opportunities in the astronomical sciences.

Here’s a quick rundown of what job seekers can expect:

  • New jobs more often! Job announcements will be posted online on the fly. No more waiting until the start of the month!
  • Status tracking for a given position, from Accepting Applicants to Position Filled
  • Expanded search parameters and additional sort fields

Recruiters — we didn’t forget you:

  • More postings more often! Job announcements will be posted online immediately after payment and approval. No more waiting until the start of the month!
  • Easy extensions to your four-week posting by adding time in one-week increments
  • Reminders to update the status of your position to keep your candidates informed

The new Job Register will also feature a more mobile-friendly theme, so you can search or post on the go. No substantial downtime is expected as we move to the new version. If you have any questions about the new and improved AAS Job Register, contact Kidist Shiferaw at [email protected].
