Job Description

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Alabama invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the Astronomy & Astro-particle Group (https://astronomy.ua.edu/). The successful candidate will work with Dr. Chao-Chin Yang in astrophysical research of mutual interests. Specifically, he is interested in utilizing computer simulations and/or theoretical analyses to investigate dynamical processes in protoplanetary disks around a young star as well as the implications of these processes to planet formation, observations of protoplanetary disks, and the Solar System.


The applicant should have obtained a Ph.D. in astronomy, planetary sciences, or a closely related field by the date of hire. Candidates with research experiences in protoplanetary disks, planet formation, and/or theoretical/computational astrophysics are encouraged to apply.
