Solar Eclipse 2017 Planning Workshop V

The American Astronomical Society (AAS), in cooperation with the South Carolina State Museum (SCSM) and the University of South Carolina (USC), will be holding its fifth and final Solar Eclipse 2017 Planning Conference and Workshop. This two-day event is Friday, March 31st, and Saturday, April 1st. Participant registration ($100) includes the two-day conference and workshop, catered lunches, coffee breaks, and complimentary museum admission.

Rooms are available at a negotiated rate of $160 ($140 + 14% tax) for any of the three nights (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) at the Hyatt Place in the Vista section, the heart of downtown Columbia on Gervais Street. The rate includes hot and cold breakfast buffet, complimentary self-parking (a $12 value in the downtown area), and free shuttle transportation. When booking please announce that you are reserving for the Eclipse 2017 conference.

Columbia is served by three major airports: Columbia (CAE), 15-minute drive; Charleston (CHS), 90-minute drive; and Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT), 80-minute drive. Airfares to Charlotte have been found on average to be more economical. Car-pooling from airports could potentially be coordinated. Registration: https://aas.org/education/outreach/eclipse-2017
