Every four years Sigma Pi Sigma (ΣΠΣ), the physics honor society that is part of the Society of Physics Students (SPS) and the American Institute of Physics (AIP), holds its Physics Congress (PhysCon). The meeting bringing together physics students, alumni, and faculty members for three days of frontier physics, interactive professional development workshops, and networking. PhysCon 2019 will bring together more than 1,500 students of physics and astronomy with mentors, alumni, and renowned scientists 14-16 November 2019 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence.

Brad Conrad, AIP's director of both SPS and ΣΠΣ, invites scientists who are attending PhysCon 2019 or who live within driving distance to join student attendees in "Lunch with a Scientist" on Friday, 15 November. As long as you can get yourself there (and pay for parking, if necessary), SPS/ΣΠΣ will provide lunch. To maximize the number of students who can participate, Conrad is looking to recruit 150 scientists, and he's hoping many AAS members will be among them.

To register for this event, interested scientists should visit the PhysCon 2019 Registration page and click on the "Lunch with a Scientist Invitee" button. Questions? Email Brad Conrad.
