Apply to Be the Next AAS John N. Bahcall Public Policy Fellow!

Joel Parriott American Astronomical Society (AAS)

Do you love writing, giving presentations, and meeting new people? Are you energetic? Do you have an odd affection for meetings? Are you interested in a potential career in public policy? Then you are an excellent candidate to be the next John N. Bahcall Public Policy Fellow here at the AAS! Applications are due March 31st.

Our most recent Bahcall Fellow, Josh Shiode, just left us to take an exciting and high-profile job in government relations at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). In fact, all five previous Bahcall Fellows have gone on to interesting and rewarding positions in public policy after leaving the AAS. The normal fellowship term is one year (September to September), renewable for an additional year. Since Josh found a great job well before the end of his second year, the next Fellow could possibly start well before September.

Please see the post on the AAS Job Register and our online application form for additional details, and please don't hesitate to contact me at [email protected] with any questions.
