This post is adapted from the Scientific American Young Scientists Award nomination website.
Scientific American is looking for the next great superstars in science, technology, and medicine. They are the future generation of leaders, the innovators, the people making big discoveries and solving the toughest problems. This award is for scientists whose work is poised to change the world.
Nomination criteria:
- The award is open to early-career professionals of any nationality and of any age who are based in the United States.
- Nominees can work in an academic, nonprofit, or industry/corporate setting but must be actively engaged in research.
- Nominees should have approximately three to seven years of postgraduate experience and hold one or more degrees; the award is intended for scientists at roughly the level of postdoc or assistant professor. This is not an award for graduate students unless they are truly exceptional. It is also not for well-established researchers such as associate professors, tenured professors, or their equivalents.
Nominations are due 30 January 2026.
