Enter the Royal Society Publishing 2025 Photo Competition

The Royal Society Publishing Photography Competition highlights the power of photography in capturing the scientific phenomena around us, and the role great images play in making science accessible to a wide audience. The competition will be held in collaboration with the Royal Photographic Society. This competition is split into five categories, including astronomy, and is free to enter but open only to scientists. Deadline: 15 August 2025.

The competition is free to enter. The overall winner receives a prize of £1,000 (or currency equivalent). Winners of the categories not chosen as the overall winner will receive a one-year membership to the Royal Photographic Society.
