The AAS Committee on the Status of Minorities in Astronomy (CSMA) is proud to announce that the 2022 Micro-Grants Program awarded 15 grants of $650 each to students suffering from the effects of financial scarcity to go toward their astronomy/physics graduate school application costs. The program was able to award more grants at a higher monetary value due to AAS's generosity — AAS contributed a match of funds to supplement the original award ($15,000 in total) from the AIP Diversity Action Fund.
The CSMA Micro-Grants Program will continue in the fall of 2023 for next year’s graduate school applications cycle.
