Dear Colleague Letters
These letters are drafted by members of Congress for other members to sign on to. There is usually a flurry of them during appropriations in support of funding various programs. You can get involved by contacting your members of Congress to encourage them to sign on to these letters.
Letter in Support of Junior Scientists
Representatives McKinley and Foster have put out a Dear Colleague Letter calling for additional funding to address the challenges faced by “junior scientists” (including graduate students, doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, and research fellows) as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. You can reach out to your representative's office to encourage them to join the letter.
The deadline to sign the letter is Friday, 14 May 2021.

Letter in Support of the DOE
Senators Durbin and Duckworth are asking their colleagues on the Senate Appropriations committee to support robust funding increases for the Department of Energy Office of Science for Fiscal Year 2022. This Dear Colleague letter asks for $7.7 billion in funding for DOE-Office of science in FY22.
The deadline to sign the letter is Thursday, 13 May 2021.
