ASP Welcomes Nominations for 2021 Awards

The Astronomical Society of the Pacific (ASP) recognizes individual achievements in astronomy research, technology, education, and public outreach each year. We are accepting nominations for our 2021 awards through 1 March 2021.
The nomination process, which is new this year, is open to all. ASP members are especially encouraged to participate in the nomination process of select awards for those involved in research, public outreach, or who are active in the amateur astronomy or teaching communities. Please feel free to share this announcement with colleagues or friends who might like to participate.

ASP Awards Open for Nominations in 2021
- The Catherine Wolfe Bruce Gold Medal: Awarded since 1898 for a lifetime of outstanding research in astronomy.
- Maria and Eric Muhlmann Award: For important research results based upon development of groundbreaking instruments and techniques.
- Robert J. Trumpler Award: For a recent PhD thesis considered unusually important to astronomy.
- Gordon Myers Amateur Achievement Award: For significant observational or technical achievements by an amateur astronomer.
- Klumpke-Roberts Award: For outstanding contributions to the public understanding and appreciation of astronomy.
- Thomas J. Brennan Award: For exceptional achievement related to the teaching of astronomy at the high school level.
Nomination deadline: 1 March 2021
The ASP hosts our Annual Awards Gala to honor recipients. We have decided to present our 2021 awards at the ASP's Annual Meeting, which will be held virtually in December.
