Improvements to AAS Journals Article Charge Process

Julie Steffen American Astronomical Society (AAS)

AAS Journals

The AAS and our journals partner, the Institute of Physics (IOP) Publishing, are pleased to announce a new system for handling article publication charges for our journals. Improvements to IOP Publishing's billing system include the following:

  • New, more intuitive website
  • No account registration or login required
  • Improved mechanism for delegating invoices
  • No delay of publication due to incomplete contributor forms

The new system is now activated for all newly accepted articles. Please note that authors will no longer receive an email from us requesting billing details as soon as an article is accepted. Instead IOP Publishing will email an invoice to the corresponding author when the article is published, at which point the author can follow a link to pay the article charge online, request amendments, or delegate it to a colleague.

As always, we welcome your feedback on these changes and on ways we can serve you even better. For any invoice-related questions or feedback please email IOP Publishing. For more information on publishing with the AAS, visit the AAS Publishing website.
