Stay Informed About Science Funding and Policy

Heather Bloemhard Vanderbilt University

Many AAS members and other scientists have expressed concern about what effects the change in presidential administration will have on science funding and policy. In an effort to address these concerns, our parent association, the American Institute of Physics (AIP), is introducing a new resource that’s available free to members of all AIP member societies: FYI This Week.

AIP FYI This Week

Each edition will include a look at the week ahead in science policy and a review of the week just passed. It will also list upcoming events, opportunities to get engaged, and links to articles from other publications. FYI has been a trusted resource for 25 years; this new weekly edition will be particularly valuable in these uncertain times.

Visit the AIP website to see samples of the email and web versions of FYI and to subscribe to this free service by clicking on the green SIGN UP FOR FYI button.

The AAS Public Policy team will continue to provide information and resources as well. Keep an eye on the AAS Public Policy Blog for the latest policy news affecting the astronomical sciences. If you want your voice heard on Capitol Hill to advocate for federal support of science, please sign up to participate in one of the upcoming Congressional Visit Days.

By becoming more informed and involved, we can better understand and respond to policy developments that will have an impact on our science and our nation.
