AIP's Statistical Research Center has published two new reports on underrepresented minorities in physics, astronomy, and related fields. Both are available as PDFs:
- Hispanic Participation Among Bachelors in Physical Sciences and Engineering: While Hispanics are still underrepresented among degree recipients, there has been an increased attainment of bachelor's degrees in the physical sciences and engineering that is encouraging.
- African Americans & Hispanics Among Physics & Astronomy Faculty: Our 2012 survey shows slower growth rates than in 2008 and continued underrepresentation of African Americans, Hispanics, and women of color among physics and astronomy faculty members.
We hope you find these data interesting and useful. If you have any questions or comments, please let us know.
