Apply for the Catalyzing Advocacy in Science and Engineering Workshop
Heather Bloemhard Vanderbilt University
The American Association for the Advancement of Science is organizing the Catalyzing Advocacy in Science and Engineering (CASE) Workshop on 17-20 April 2016.
This year the AAS will be sponsoring one student to participate. Our sponsorship means that we pay the selected student's airfare, hotel, and registration fees for the workshop. At the workshop the participants will:
- learn about the role of science in policy-making,
- be introduced to the federal policy-making process,
- be empowered with ways to become a voice for basic research throughout your careers, and
- have the opportunity to visit their members of Congress or congressional staffers.
If you're an AAS member, an upper-level undergraduate or graduate student, and interested in science policy, then apply! Complete applications will include:
- résumé or CV of no more than 2 pages,
- Statement of Interest of no more than 300 words, and
- Letter of Support from an advisor, mentor, or supervisor.
Complete applications are due by 11:59 pm 10 March 2016.
