236th AAS Meeting - Local Student Education & Public Outreach Exhibitor Reservation Form

DEADLINE TO VOLUNTEER: MAY 14

Sponsored by Associated Universities, Inc. AUI

Wednesday, 3 June 2020, ~12:00 pm to 2:00 pm

Participating in the Student Education & Public Outreach (EPO) Program at the 236th AAS meeting is a great way for your institution to interact with students from the local community. There is no fee to participate, but we need each group to make a reservation. As a participant, you will have a unique opportunity to highlight your programs and facilities and to involve students in hands-on science. The event is geared toward 6th- to 12th-graders.

We encourage you to work with your education and public outreach staff to create a 12-minute HANDS-ON activity that will engage and excite the students. You will be visited by up to eight different groups of students over a two-hour period.

We ask all participants to provide 150 handouts for the students. AAS volunteers will put together a 'goodie bag' with all the handouts and distribute them to the students as they leave the exhibit hall.

If your organization is exhibiting at the meeting but is not interested in otherwise participating in the student EPO program, you are still invited to supply handouts to inform the students about your programs and to encourage their further exploration of science, technology, engineering, and math. Handouts must be delivered to AAS Exhibitor Registration by Monday, 1 June 2020. All participating organizations will be acknowledged at the event.

Please fill out this form to let us know your plans for the student EPO program. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required; others are optional. Questions? Contact Debbie Kovalsky.
