Job Description
The Astroparticle and Cosmology (APC; http://apc.u-paris.fr/) laboratory of the University of Paris seeks applications for one postdoctoral position in the area of galaxy formation and evolution, with specific emphasis on the participation in the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Euclid Mission and the synergy with the Rubin Observatory Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST).
Tasks: Machine Learning algorithms for photometric redshift estimation and cluster detection. Processing of external Euclid data from Rubin/LSST and estimation of photometric redshifts. The postdoc will work within the Euclid team at the APC laboratory and contribute to the development in the ground segment of algorithms and operations for photometric validation of combined Euclid and LSST data, as well as for photometric redshifts and cluster detection. S.he will have a research activity focused on galaxy clusters or galaxy formation and evolution.
Starting date between Jan 1 2025 and Dec 30 2025

- Ph.D. in astrophysics
- Photometric redshifts, image simulations, image analysis, Proficiency in Python and coding in general, Ability to work in a team and respect deadlines, Capability to write documents and deliver clear presentations in English, Research in photometric redshifts for applications in cosmology or galaxy formation and evolution or galaxy clusters.
