Job Description
CSIRO Early Research Career (CERC) Postdoctoral Fellowships provide opportunities to scientists and engineers who have completed their doctorate and have less than three years of relevant postdoctoral work experience. These fellowships aim to develop the next generation of future leaders of the innovation system.
The CERC Fellow will join CSIRO’s Space and Astronomy team contributing to CSIRO’s effort to expand Australia’s low-frequency radio astronomy capacity. This fellow will carry out innovative research in the domain of low-frequency astronomy with SKA precursors such as LOFAR, the MWA, and GMRT. They will be free to develop their own independent research program to be carried out in collaboration with the Science Leader in low-frequency science and the area can range from AGN, cosmology, clusters, transients, stars and planets, Galactic or ISM, as well as space weather and the ionosphere. This fellow will also have the opportunity to work on the commissioning of the new Low frequency Australian Megametre Baseline Demonstrator Array or LAMBDA, which looks to bring low-frequency VLBI to the Southern Hemisphere, led by the Australia Telescope National Facility.
The program is directed towards early careers researchers and to be eligible to apply must have no more than 3 years (full time equivalent) of postdoctoral research experience at time of commencement. Compensation and Benefits
