Job Description

Applications are invited for a PhD position on the topic of galaxy evolution at the Department of Space, Earth and Environment, Chalmers University of Technology. The starting data is flexible, though preferably spring/summer 2019. The successful candidate will join the research group of Dr. Kirsten K. Knudsen. The research is on high-redshift starburst/AGN and galaxy formation and evolution with focus on observational studies using mm-wave/radio instruments such as ALMA, JVLA, and APEX. The successful applicant will work mainly at Onsala Space Observatory, where Chalmers hosts the Swedish National Facility for Radio Astronomy which is also the location of the Nordic ALMA Regional Center Node. 

A required background is a MSc in astronomy or physics. Experience with the topic of galaxy formation and evolution, or radio or mm interferometry would be an asset.
