Job Description
University of Vienna offers a postdoctoral position as part of the ERC Consolidator Grant EASE (Early Earth, Venus, and Mars as Exoplanets) led by Kristina Kislyakova. The project explores the joint evolution of Earth, Venus, and Mars, and their place in the larger family of exoplanetary systems. The postdoctoral researcher will study the spectral features of Earth, Venus, and Mars at different evolutionary stages and generalize the results for exoplanets. The team will adapt the atmospheres to stars with different evolutionary histories and explore alternative evolutionary outcomes.
Specific experience with the following topics is considered a strong asset:
- modeling of observable features of exoplanets
- experience with forward atmospheric models and retrieval models
- In-depth knowledge of stellar evolution
- experience with evolution of solar system objects is an additional bonus
Starting date is flexible, but preferably in February/March 2025
Funding: 100% position (40h/week) for 4.5 years

Your Profile:
- PhD in related astrophysical topics completed by the starting date
- Extensive Experience in one or more of the above-mentioned topics
- Programming skills
- Interest in (co-)mentoring graduate and undergraduate students
- Excellent ability to work in a team and excellent communication skills
