Associate Professor in Observational Cosmology
Job Summary
Job Description
The Department of Physics at Stockholm University invites applications for a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Observational Cosmology. The lecturer is very welcome to participate in the scientific programme of the Oskar Klein Centre (OKC), which connects groups of leading experts for collaboration over multiple areas of research. Successful research fields at OKC include astrophysics, fundamental theory, phenomenology, as well as observations of astronomical systems that aid in improving our understanding of models of gravity and cosmology. Faculty members in overlapping research areas include Lars Bergström, Katie Freese, Ariel Goobar, Edvard Mörtsell, Hiranya Peiris and Frank Wilczek.
Studies of cosmic transients at optical wavelengths is an important activity at OKC, primarily through participation in the intermediate Palomar Transient Factory (iPTF), to be followed by the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF) in 2017.
