The Physics Department at Utah Valley University (UVU) is accepting applications for a tenure-track professor in astronomy or astrophysics beginning July 2021. The successful candidate will demonstrate aptitude for teaching and mentoring undergraduate research students. Candidates with proven success in any field of astronomy will be considered.
UVU is a large public undergraduate university with strong emphasis on teaching. Professors at UVU teach a course load of 12 credit hours each semester, and candidates should be prepared to teach a variety of undergraduate astronomy and physics courses. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in current pedagogical strategies for maximizing student success. Applicants should submit a cover letter, a CV including classes taught, a statement of research interests, a statement of teaching experience and philosophy, and contact information for three references.
