Assistant Professor of Physics & Astronomy

The Physics & Astronomy Department at Oberlin College invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in Astrophysics. Initial appointment to this position will be for a term of four years, beginning Fall 2017, and will carry the rank of Assistant Professor. In addition to teaching courses in physics and astronomy (4.5 courses per year), the incumbent will establish an active research program involving undergraduate students; laboratory space and start-up funds will be provided. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. degree in astrophysics, astronomy, physics, or related fields (in hand or expected by Fall 2017).

Candidates must demonstrate potential for excellent undergraduate teaching and mentored research. Postdoctoral research experience is desirable as is teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
