Job Description

The position is supported by the Belgium Euclid Science Exploitation ESA-Prodex research program which brings together the expertise of research groups at the UGent (Gent), ULiege (Liège), ULB (Brussels) and UCLouvain (Louvain-la-Neuve) universities. There will be close collaborations between these groups, with excellent computing and travel support. You work within the Local Universe Science Working Group of the Euclid Consortium and will use Euclid data products to constrain the nature and spatial distribution of dark matter in dwarfs. To this goal, you will leverage the fact that CDM (cold dark matter consisting of, e.g., an unknown elementary particle) and PBH-DM (cold dark matter consisting of primordial black holes) yield different predictions for dwarf galaxy properties. You will collaborate with the other partners in this project and with external partners (Prof. Peletier of Groningen University) to achieve your science goals.

Your contract will start no later than Fall 2024. The project is funded for a period of three years. A budget for travel, and for a laptop and a writing tablet is available. Your remuneration falls in salary scale PD1 to PD4. See
