Ball State University Physics and Astronomy department is seeking a Physics and Astronomy Laboratory Manager.
Position Function: Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Physics and Astronomy stockroom and labs each semester by direct supervision and interaction along with providing critical technical support to faculty members while maintaining safety standards. Instruct labs as directed by the department chairperson. Supervise graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Assist with student research as needed.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Physics or closely related field. One year of related experience with strong laboratory experience. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. This position will also require the ability to stand and walk for several hours a day. Must be available to work occasional nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree plus three years of related experience with strong laboratory experience.
