Job Description
The Department of Physics & Astronomy at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) seeks an innovative research leader to either complement and expand our current expertise in astrophysics, optics and photonics, and nonlinear materials, or broaden our research portfolio into biophysics, biophotonics, atmospheric physics, or related fields.
This endowed position offers an exciting opportunity for joint research, educational projects, and collaborations within the department, college, university, and the local high-tech community. Opportunities for research collaborations exist in UAH’s Research Centers, the neighboring NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, the HudsonAlpha Institute of Biotechnology, Redstone Arsenal, and several other non-profit, government, and industrial partners located in Cummings Research Park, the Huntsville/Madison/Decatur area, and the region.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have credentials in research and teaching suitable for appointment as tenured Professor. He or she will also have a record of securing external funding and of supporting and graduating Ph.D. students. Applicants should submit a single PDF document containing a
