The Instituto de Astronomía y Ciencias Planetarias (INCT) at Universidad de Atacama (UDA) located in Copiapó, Chile
is offering two Assistant professor positions to enthusiastic candidates who are currently working in the fields
of solar system, exoplanets, stellar astrophysics, and galactic astronomy. Successful candidates should be
able to teach effectively at postgraduate level (in English) and have a positive attitude towards teamwork
aimed at enhancing our institution. A Ph.D. in astronomy or closely related area is required, with at least 5
years of experience after the Ph.D. and a minimum of 10 publications (with Journal Impact Factor >1) in the
last 5 years. As stated before, candidates need to have an excellent command of English however Spanish is
the official language at INCT UDA so successful candidates are expected to be proficient in Spanish within 1
year (Spanish courses will also be offered). Successful applicants will have access to the 10% of time
guaranteed to Chilean institutions on all observing facilities based in the country.
Net salary: 50.000 USD/year plus incentives per productivity.
