Post Title: Research Fellow in Theoretical and Numerical Astrophysics
School/department: School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences / Department of Physics and Astronomy
Hours: Full-time or part-time hours considered up to a maximum of 36.5 hours per week. Requests for flexible working options will be considered (subject to business need).
Contract: Fixed term for 24 months, with possible extension subject to funding

Salary: Starting at £33,199 (or higher, depending on prior experience) and rising to £39,609 per annum, pro rata

Applications are invited for a Research Fellow at the University of Sussex in the field of theoretical and numerical astrophysics to work with Dr. Anastasia Fialkov.
Post-holders will be expected to work on topics aligned with the project “Traces of Primordial Star Formation in the 21-cm Signal” funded by the Royal Society including star/galaxy formation during cosmic dawn and reionization, the role of dark matter.
The successful applicant should have expertise in hydrodynamical simulations of star and/or galaxy formation. Experience with parallel computing, databases and statistics are highly desirable.
