The Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory is part of the largest and most diverse astrophysical institution in the world, where the staff carries out a broad program of research in astronomy, astrophysics and earth and space sciences. This is the position of Astrophysicist with the Processing and Archive Operations (PAOps) team of the Chandra X-ray Center (CXC) in the High Energy Astrophysics division of the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory. The CXC supports the Chandra X-ray Observatory (CXC) science mission. The employee will report to the PAOps lead within the CXC Data Systems Division (CXCDS) and will contribute to scientific and technical operations in the area of data processing and archival.
