Job Description
The Florida State University (FSU) Physics Department invites applications for a tenure-track Associate Professor, with a focus on optical to far-infrared space-based observational astronomy.
Qualifications: Required: Ph.D. in Physics or a related field and five (5) years’ experience as an Assistant Professor in Physics or a related field. Preferred: Demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Proven track record in cutting-edge research in this area. Experience and knowledge of Astrophysics.
Responsibilities: Perform research in optical to far-infrared space-based observational astronomy. Lead a space-based observational program and participate in international collaborations to conduct a large astrophysical survey using NASA Facilities such as the Hubble Space Telescope and the James Webb Space Telescope. Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the Department of Physics, including specialized astrophysics and physics courses.
