Job Description
The Georgia College Department of Chemistry, Physics and Astronomy is seeking to fill a position at the level of a limited-term lecturer to begin in January 2023. This position will teach introductory astronomy courses and serve as Laboratory Coordinator for the introductory astronomy labs. As a non-tenure track appointment with a primary focus on teaching, there is not a research expectation. The Department of Chemistry, Physics and Astronomy at Georgia College supports several facilities for our physics program including a machine shop, teaching planetarium and on-campus observatory with a 24-inch telescope. Educational Requirements include a M.S. or Ph.D./ABD in Physics or Astronomy.
Teaching experience in astronomy at the college level is preferred along with an ability to maintain internally developed astronomy lab materials and resources.
