Job Description

3 postdoctoral positions are available at the Department of Astrophysics at CEA Saclay. The researchers will join an international team developing advanced statistical and computational methods for the analysis of cosmological data from the Euclid space mission and the Vera C. Rubin Observatory, working at the interface of cosmology, data science, HPC, and machine learning.

Positions:

  1. Field-level inference of weak lensing (2+1 years). As part of the ERC-funded OCAPi project, the postdoctoral researcher will work closely with Dr. Natalia Porqueres to develop field-level inference for cosmic shear and apply it to Euclid’s weak lensing data. More details about the position and project can be found here
  2. Zoom-in hydro cosmo simulations with RAMSES (2 years). As part of the ERC-funded COLIBRI project, the postdoctoral researcher will work closely with Sandrine Codis and Yohan Dubois to develop hydro simulations in cosmological volumes and postprocessing tools.  More details about the position and project can be found here
  3. Probabilistic & Differentiable Programming for Cosmology (2 years).  As part of the ANR-funded AstroDeep project, the postdoctoral researcher will work closely with Dr. Francois Lanusse to develop differentiable and probabilistic modeling frameworks for cosmological inference with imaging surveys, from pixels to cosmology, and apply them to LSST Rubin.  More details about the position and project can be found here.

Qualifications:

The candidates must have received their PhD in astrophysics, data analysis, computer science or equivalent before the start of the appointment.
